Even lunatics know Akufo-Addo has lost it –Kwakye

A Former Deputy Minister for Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, says the administration of the President Akufo Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has become so terrible to the extent that even “lunatics know this administration has lost the very essence of governance.”

“The very essence of governance has eluded the current administration following the abysmal performance recorded in the last seven years and even lunatics know that this is the most terrible government in the history of Ghana,” he said.

He was addressing the western regional youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at a capacity building conference organised in Ellembelle Municipality under the theme: “Effective mobilisation for power: the role of a Youth Organiser.”

He said due to the disastrous performance recorded in government and having been confused about the series of embarrassments suffered, nothing important about governance again lately concerns President Akufo-Addo.

In terms of good governance, he said the NPP members know exactly that they come nowhere close to the NDC.

According to the former Deputy Minister for Communications, anytime the NDC gets an opportunity to govern, the party would develop and improve all spheres of the country’s governance process, as well as the national economy.

Unfortunately, same cannot be said about the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), since what they do basically is to reap the benefits accrued and later destroy everything before leaving office.

For instance, he cited the current state of Ghana’s currency and made damming revelations that it has become the worse performing currency in the world.

To this end, he challenged the youth of NDC to offer adequate information to the Ghanaian electorate, particularly people who are lacking behind in terms of understanding of National issues.

He, however, ruled out the assertion that the NDC and NPP were the same, following the aforementioned comparison made.

He stressed that anyone comparing the two political parties on grounds of performance was either an NPP member who is disappointed in the current administration or seriously lacking adequate information, hence the need to help those people comprehend issues with facts.

Continuing, the youthful orator assured the teaming youth of the NDC that the prevailing circumstance in the country would automatically determine the outcome of the 2024 general elections.

“Hardship would determine outcome of 2024 general elections,” he emphasised.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu revealed that the number of Ghanaian youth, who form the nucleus of the productive working bracket, have been deserting their communities and leaving the country in  droves following the excruciating hardship they are enduring under the current administration.

The youth, he indicated, were deserting the country because they did not have hope in the leadership of the country.

On his part, the leader of NDC’s legal team, Lawyer Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo, mesmerised the NDC youth, when speaking on the topic: ” Youth mobilisation, law and political dynamics: the role of an activist.”

The legal luminary took his time to explain the country’s electoral laws, electoral processes and dangers associated with agents committing themselves without verification and authentication of electoral figures, among others.

Any attempt to do the unthinkable, he warned, would plunge the party into defeat at the polling station level.

Therefore, he appealed to the youth organisers to work in tandem with branch executives to facilitate the timely and cautious collation of figures with effectiveness and efficiency.
