Don’t vote for flip-flop Mahama –President

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has taken a swipe at former president Mahama, urging voters not to choose him for his inconsistency.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the candidate he defeated two times in a row could not be entrusted with the governance of this nation, as his tenure was characterised with mismanagement.

Addressing a stakeholder engagement in Tema on Monday, December 2, 2024, on the day two of his thank you tour of the Greater Accra region, President Akufo-Addo instead encouraged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Some of the clergy and chiefs at a meeting at the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Community 5 District in Tema.

He cited instances where Mr Mahama has been inconsistent. He mentioned that Mahama had criticised the Free Senior High School, saying that if he had GHc2 billion he would not invest it in free SHS.

“We need a leader who says yes, and it is yes; who says no, and it is no. Not one who says this today and a different thing tomorrow—flip flop, flip flop,” Akufo-Addo said about Mahama.

The stakeholder meeting was attended by the clergy, imams, artisans, nurses, teachers, traders and other stakeholders.

President Akufo-Addo quizzed how the NDC’s Mahama could be trusted with his 24-hour economy promise when “you couldn’t keep the lights on for 12 hours.”

GAINS

President Akufo-Addo indicated that his government had introduced policies and programs that have opened the economy of Ghana.

He mentioned that huge investment has been made in roads, education, health and other sectors that needed to be protected and improved upon.

He stated how free SHS had benefitted some 5.7 million people and doubled the enrolment. This, according to him, had also increased the enrolment in the various tertiary institutions.

According to the President, the Agenda 111 initiative was a ground-breaking project that would transform the healthcare system of the country.

FUTURE

President Akufo-Addo said his vice president, Dr. Bawumia, embodied the future of the nation.

He cited that the digitalisation focus by Dr. Bawumia was what Ghana needed to be at par with the fourth industrial revolution.

He said that Ghana missed the first, second and third revolutions and “we can’t afford to miss the fourth one.”President Akufo-Addo encouraged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

There was another stakeholder engagement in Accra after that of Tema. The agenda for the meeting was not different, as the president said he had met them to thank Ghanaians for the honour done him to be the president and the support he received.

“So I came this afternoon to do these two things. First of all, I want to say thank you for making me the president of Ghana. And secondly, I came with this big request.

“I want somebody who can continue the good works we have done and not destroy them. I believe Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will move Ghana forward. So, Saturday, think about it.”
