Nana Kwame Abebreseh Adwodwo, Chief of Anetemfe in the Ahafo Ano South West District of Ashanti region, has stated that Digitalization without access to electricity, telecommunication networks, Internet Service and good roads to communities is of no use.
According to him, at this technological age, about 48 communities in the district have no access to Electricity, Telecommunication Networks, Internet Service and good roads, which needed urgent attention to improve the lives of the people.
He queried how a student in a community without internet service can check their examination results after the government has over the years failed to connect them to the national grid or tarred road networks or access to internet service.
He complained that politicians always visit them during campaign periods and neglected them after the elections.
Nana Abebreseh expressed these grievances when Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, aka General Mosquito, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who is also the head of the Ashanti Regional Retail Campaign, stopped by the village to acquaint himself with pressing challenges facing the electorate at the grassroots levels.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah urged them to vote massively for the NDC in the upcoming general elections to fix their problems.
He promised them that voting for the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and the Parliamentary Candidate Abubakar Sadik, is a vote for the expansion of rural electrification, tarring of their roads under the Cocoa roads projects and access to telecommunication networks and internet service.
