Management of Accra Hearts of Oak are set to announce the appointment of David Ocloo as a substantive coach until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Ocloo has been asked by the top hierarchy of the Capital based club to take over the coaching duties on interim basis following the supporters’ decision not to allow Serbian coach Slavko Matic to continue his job.
Matic was chased out of the club’s training grounds — Pobiman training complex — by the fans of Hearts of Oak, calling for his exit following the team’s uninspiring performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The Serbian gaffer reported the incident to the Ghana Police and he was advised by the security agency to stay away from the club until further notice.
Kickgh.com understands that Hearts of Oak board of directors are considering terminating their contract with Slavko Matic, who joined them in November 2022.
Former Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professionals coach David Ocloo is in line to be appointed to lead the Phobians for the remainder of the 2022/23 season’s campaign.
Ocloo guided Hearts of Oak to defeat their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0 in the Ghana Premier League match-week 20 encounter which was also dubbed 2023 President Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday Credit: kickgh.com
