Liverpool‘s new £85million record signing Darwin Nunez has apologised and insisted that he will learn from his mistakes after picking up a straight red card for headbutting a Crystal Palace defender on Monday.
The 23-year-old striker was given his marching orders on his home debut for the Reds after clashing with Joachim Andersen at Anfield. Nunez is now facing a three-match ban for violent conduct, which came in the second half of the game as Liverpool tried to come back from 1-0 down.
Nunez will now serve a three match ban, which will cause real issues for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota are both currently unavailable due to injury. The Uruguay international has received plenty of backlash since the incident and has decided to take to social media to issue an apology.
