Customs Division of GRA (Kumasi section) exceeds revenue target by 13.7%

The outgoing Ashanti Regional Command of the Custom Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), AC Vivian Glover, has stated that the Kumasi section of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority exceeded its target by 13.7% as at December 2024.

She disclosed that the sector was givenĀ a revenue target of GHc399.43 million to be collected by the end of December 2024, but her outfit collected GHc454.69 million – representing 13.7% increase and thus contributing to the success of the Customs division.

SheĀ expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated team members of the Kumasi collection and Mr. Evans Teye Agozo for their unwavering support, cooperation and commitment without which they could not have achieved the remarkable feat.

She commended key stakeholders including BOST, Oil marketing Companies such as Ghana Link for providing their valuable services to the Custom division of the region. Chief Revenue Officer Evans Teye Agbozo, who takes overĀ Ā as theĀ Ashanti Section Commander,Ā joined the erstwhile Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) now GRA (Customs Division) in February, 1991 as a Collection Assistant Grade III and has worked assiduously to rise through the ranks to his present position.

Prior to this present appointment, he held numerous position of responsibility such as Second-in Command Kumasi Collection, Past Clearance Audit, Officer-in-Charge, Monitoring and Surveillance Unit, PCA- Tema, Team Leader, Transit Regime (Post Clearance Audit, Officer-in-Charge, Preventive Kumasi Collection, Officer-in-Charge, Rapid Deployment Team Kumasi Collection.

Mr. Agbozo was also Officer-in-Charge, Vehicle Task Force, Kumasi Collection,Officer-in-Charge, Valuation, Revenue Agencies Governing Board and Classification Officer, (Gateway Services).

Mr. Agbozo is a Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD), Ghana, in good standing and holder of a Master of Science Degree in Corporate Planning and Governance from The University of Cape Coast.

He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
