The Ghana Education Service (GES), the agency responsible for overseeing basic, technical and special education in Ghana has announced that the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal is fully active and urged the public to make use of it.

BECE PLACEMENT SYSTEM

In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the Service encouraged candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to log in via the official link —https://www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login — to confirm their school choices.

GES explained that a candidate’s aggregate is determined by summing the grades obtained in the four core subjects—English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies – and then adding the best two grades from the remaining subjects.

In other words, the placement score is based on performance in the four compulsory subjects plus two other strong subjects, making six subjects in total.

The Service emphasized that this clarification is intended to help students, parents, and teachers understand how the CSSPS calculates aggregates for school placement considerations. It further explained that while the raw scores remain the main standard for school placement, the overall aggregate also plays a key role in the process.

GES added that the CSSPS portal will remain open until 8th September, 2025 after which it will be closed.

It encouraged candidates to share feedback about their experiences on the portal and to report any challenges or discrepancies by using the “Message” option provided on the platform.

“The 24-hour CSSPS Team is on standby to provide every support you need to make the process smooth,” the statement assured.
