Covid-19 vaccines save lives

The Ashanti regional health directorate has begun Covid-19 vaccination exercise, with a call on the masses to get vaccinated.

Made up of forty-three Metropolitans, Municipals and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region, the Ashanti regional health directorate is targeting 88,130 people to be vaccinated against the mutating virus.

Speaking in an interview with The Chronicle, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, the Ashanti regional health director, disclosed that the region has so far administered a total of 4,975,796 doses.

Dr Tenkorang further disclosed to this paper that the total number of persons vaccinated are 1,960,955 which represent 53.4%, adding that the number of those who have received at least one dose are 2,654,554 representing 72.4%.

On the relevance of the vaccine, the Ashanti regional health director said it is highly effective in fighting against the virus.

He urged the public, especially religious leaders and other stakeholders help in eliminating the conspiracy theories surrounding the vaccines.
