Bail Granted

An 18-year-old Okada rider, Michael Duvi, has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties by the Circuit Court 3 in Accra for his alleged involvement in a robbery incident at Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region.

The bail, granted by Her Honour Susana Eduful, requires the sureties to justify the amount with landed property.

The court further ordered that the sureties deposit their Ghana Cards and original land documents at the court registry until the case is concluded.

Duvi, who faces two counts; conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery, pleaded not guilty. His alleged accomplice, identified only as Alex, is currently on the run.

The prosecution, led by Inspector W.B. Kwafo, was directed to file all disclosures by December 1, 2025.

Alleged Incident

According to the brief facts presented in court, the complainant, Elvis Mensah, a store attendant residing at Michelle Camp, was returning from a delivery on October 26, 2025, around 3:15 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Elvis Mensah reportedly used the Nungua–Lashibi road and upon reaching the Lashibi Funeral Home, the accused and his accomplice allegedly snatched his TecnoCamon 40 Pro Smartphone, valued at GH¢6,000 which was placed on his motorbike.

The complainant chased the two alleged robbers while calling for help. The pursuit resulted in a collision, causing both the complainant and the accused persons to fall off their motorbikes.

The two suspects fled the scene, but Duvi was later arrested and sent to the Sakumono Police Station, where the stolen phone was retrieved. His accomplice managed to escape.

Police say Duvi admitted to the offence in his caution statement and named Alex as his partner. He was subsequently charged and arraigned while efforts continue to apprehend the fugitive suspect.

The case has been adjourned as investigations continue.
