The wife of the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Samira Bawumia has appealed to Ghanaians to consider her husband, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the next president for Ghana.
According to her, “Bawumia does not need power for his selfish interest. You don’t know him as well as I do. The man is a good man. He has a good and pure heart, cares for people, he is intelligent and a great man”.
She continued that, “My husband is not a thief, rather a man who always thinks of bold policies and solutions to move Ghana forward.”
Hajia Samira Bawumia indicated that Ghana needs a committed, dedicated, knowledgeable and skill-oriented leader with ideas to serve the country, attributes that she vouched for her husband.
The wife of the NPP flagbearer hinted that the NPP is a political party which is deeply rooted in an all-inclusiveness and, therefore, does not discriminate in terms of ethnicity, appointment and creating job opportunities for Ghanaians.
The second lady made the remarks in separate durbars organised at Adeiso and Asamankese, all in the Eastern Region during her tour in the region.
She disclosed that many Muslims have occupied top positions since the formation of the party, and that it was an honour done to her husband to be elected as the Presidential candidate for the party.
HajiaSamira Bawumia, therefore, called on Ghanaians to consider her husband as next President for the country, to continue the uncompleted projects and initiate new ones to move the country forward.
The second lady said the next NPP administration would set up a special Bank for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises to support women, because they are key to economic growth and better life.
She said Dr. Bawumia is ready to train over one million Ghanaian Youth in Information Communication Technology related jobs, for the Youth to address unemployment.
The second lady assured the people of the Eastern Region of her commitment to regularly visit them and have first-hand information about their challenges, in order to find lasting solutions when they (residents) give the nod to her husband in the upcoming election.
On his part, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper West Akim Constituency, who doubles as the deputy minister for Transport, Frederick Adom Obeng said the New Patriotic Party has done well for the people in the Constituency and deserve another term to continue the good work.
According to him, the Constituency had benefited from most projects in the areas of education, health, security, employment, scholarship and other social intervention policies.
The MP called on Ghanaians to vote massively for Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President and urged the people in the constituency to give him a second term for them to continue enjoying best social intervention policies from the NPP.
