Comoros will take on one of the most star-studded teams on the African continent this week, as they prepare to do battle against Ivory Coast in a crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Stade Bouake on Friday evening.
Ivory Coast and Comoros will square off only for the second time this week, with the Elephants picking up a 3-1 win against their opponents in an international friendly back in June 2019.
Currently top of Group H, Ivory Coast got their 2023 Afcon qualifying campaign off to a flyer with a 3-1 win over Zambia on the 3rd of June 2022. Three days later, the Ivorians were held to a 0-0 stalemate against Lesotho in their second group match.
In Afcon qualification, Ivory Coast have gone six games without defeat and will look to make their 10th straight appearance in the popular competition.
