Prophet Kankam Beditor, the Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Obuasi has encouraged the general public especially Mining workers, Christians and other faith based organisations to adapt and thrive in the unfolding era of the emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI).
According to him, Artificial Intelligence has become more integrated in various aspects of life and presents unique opportunities for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in workplaces.
Prophet Kankam Beditor, who was speaking on the topic: ‘Shine To Possess Your World’, noted that a section of the general public, especially Christians and other faith-based organisations, have different views on AI and many recognise its potential to empower individuals.
He said Christians in the workforce are more likely to utilise AI technologies, suggesting a trend towards embracing the tools for work-related tasks.
He tasked Christians to work smart by leveraging AI’s capabilities while maintaining a critical awareness of its ethical dimensions and ensuring that it serves to enhance their lives.
Prophet Kankam made the recommendation at the bi-monthly gathering of Pentecost Mine Workers in and around Obuasi, organised by the Area Head and the leadership of the group.
The forum serves as a platform to offer prayers for the success of the mining sector, particularly the mine in Obuasi, during which divine protection is sought for the workers, pray for the benefit of the industry and for the workers and the people of Obuasi, including the church.
The programme also seeks to create professionals in the church, train the members to be a beacon for the Area in time of need and also create agents of transformation in the mining industry.
He expressed the view that Christians are the light of the world and that a city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden and, therefore, urged the assembled Pentecost Mine Workers to embody the essence of “SHINE” in their professional pursuits, to ensure that they remain relevant, amidst the rise of AI in the industry.
He elaborated on the acronym “SHINE”, which conveys a potent message for personal growth and wellness.
“S” stands for See Clearly – underlining the need for a lucid vision and comprehension of one’s objectives and the roadmap to attain them.
“H” represents Health is Wealth, a reminder that preserving physical and mental health is the cornerstone of a prosperous existence.
“I” signifies Innovation, fostering perpetual learning and originality to adapt and flourish in a dynamic world.
“N” denotes Neglect not your family, underscoring the importance of relationships and the support network offered by family and friends.
Whilst “E” implies Elevate one’s lifestyle, advocating for proactive efforts to enhance living standards and environment.
He is of the view that these principles, when combined, offer a comprehensive strategy for leading a balanced and rewarding life, ensuring competence in all spheres.
