Chelsea go into this game in horrible form at Stamford Bridge and there will undoubtedly be some fans already writing this one off. It’s not been an ideal start to life as Chelsea manager for Mauricio Pochettino, with the problems clearly running deeper than just the managers.
At the time of writing, Chelsea are once again in the bottom half of the Premier League, with just 12 points from their opening 10 games. Last time out, at home, the Blues lost 2-0 to Brentford to end a three-game unbeaten run in the league, their best of the season so far.
Man City, meanwhile, are just two points behind early league leaders Tottenham as they look to become the first ever men’s team to win the English top flight four years in a row. After winning their opening side games, Man City lost back-to-back matches against Wolves and Arsenal, showing signs of weakness in their armour.
But they have bounced back well so far, beating Brighton and Manchester United, the latter a 3-0 win at Old Trafford that ended a two-game losing streak away from home.
Chelsea will be hoping to have Armando Broja, Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk back for this game, but they are still missing the likes of Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Christopher Nkunku.
