The CARNADIAN ICE COMPANY LTD, producers of sachet and bottled water, last Saturday donated Piano and Public Address System worth over GH¢240,000 to the Hatorgodo St. Mary Catholic Church in the Keta Municipality, of the Volta region.

The donation, which formed part of activities to climax the 90th Anniversary celebration of the local Roman Catholic Church that has just been elevated to a quasi-Parish status, under the Akatsi-Abor Diocese, was in honour of the Dzabah and Ahegbebu families of Hatorgodo and Atiavi.

Mr. John Mawuenyegah Kadogbe, the General Manager of the CARNADIAN ICE COMPANY LTD., who handed over the items to the parish said the donation was a token to the church, in honour of the Dzabah and Ahegbebu families of the town, to commemorate the 90th Anniversary celebration of the church in Hatorgodo.

Mr Kadogbe, who is also a member of the Ahegbebu family, said the 90 years journey of the church was quite a significant milestone and expressed the hope that the centenary celebration would be observed in grand style.

Rev. Father Reuben KorsiAdziakey, the Parish Priest in charge, who received the items on behalf of the church, said he was excited that his coming to the parish coincided with the parish’s 90th anniversary celebration.

He stated that music formed an integral part of mass and emphasised that the donation of the Piano and the Public Address System was timely and would boost the morale of the church members and help to reach out to more people.

The Catechist, Simon Jonas Adogoli expressed appreciation to the Dzabah and Ahegbebu families for their benevolence and added that the church needs lots of assistance from citizens resident outside the town.
