Cape Coast: SYNLAB Ghana opens new lab

SYNLAB, a leading medical diagnostics provider, has opened an ultra-modern medical laboratory in Cape Coast to undertake world class laboratory services in the Central Region.

Situated close to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in the Ama Adoma Plaza, the new SYNLAB centre would be expected to perform analyses of human samples (blood, tissue fluids) for diagnostic.

The new facility in Cape Coast formed part of SYNLAB’s commitment to improving healthcare access and delivering high-quality diagnostic services throughout the country.

The new Cape Coast laboratory aims to reduce wait times for test results, allowing for faster diagnosis to screen for health risk, identify infectious agents and more efficient treatment plans.

Setting the Standard for Excellence

SYNLAB, which is one of Europe’s leading medical diagnostics providers, has a proven track record of excellence including achievement of ISO 15189 accreditation for its laboratories in various regions, including West Africa.

In 2008, it became the first medical laboratory in West Africa to achieve ISO 15189 accreditation, a globally recognized standard for quality and reliability in medical testing.

Its enviable commitment to accuracy and competency ensures patients and medical professionals receive the most dependable diagnostic results possible.

The official opening of the facility on Wednesday, was attended by several dignitaries including a retired professor from the University of Cape Coast, Prof Edward A Obodai.

Professor Obodai noted that it was a privilege for the people of Cape Coast and the Central Region in general to have SYNLAB in the area because of its high-class quality services.

He, therefore, advised that people must prioritise their health and be willing to spend their hard-earned to promote their well-being by patronising the services of SYNLAB for quality diagnoses.

The Centre ran free medical screening for the first 100 people who visited the facility on the first day of its operations.
