Calm atmosphere in Kyebi as voting takes place

There is calm in Kyebi, the hometown of the sitting President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Chronicle has visited several polling stations in Kyebi, in the Abuakwa South constituency and no violent incidents have been reported.

At the Methodist Primary Polling Station, 521 eligible voters were expected to cast their ballots.

When the paper got there at 11:50am, 204 people had voted, according to the presiding officer, Francis Afeku, who also said voting started at 7am

The Methodist JHS polling station is expecting 448, 151 had voted by 12pm when we got there.

The Rock of Ages Prep School Kibi 1 polling station is where President Akufo-Addo votes. He cast his ballot at 11:40am.

That polling station is expecting 605 voters. Out of the number, 211 had voted by 12:10pm.

The Rock of Ages Prep School Kibi – 2 was expecting 496. By 12:15pm, 169 had voted.

Kibi MA JHS president officer told us the polling station was expecting 501 voters. Around 12:40pm, 245 had voted.

At the Kibi MA Experimental School Polling Station, 542 voters were expected. But 230 had voted by 12:50pm.

Voting started at 7:15 at the Oman JHS A polling station which was expecting 380 voters. By 13:10pm, 146 people had voted.

The Oman JHS B Polling Station was expecting 379, but145 people had voted by 13:06pm.
