Tragedy struck the Ada West District in the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, this week, when a three-year-old boy was found dead in cold blood.
The identity of the little boy is being withheld, but sources say he was brutally murdered by his own uncle, 21-year-old Obed Kabutey, a welder apprentice.
According to reports, Kabutey had gone to his mother’s house at around 7 pm to grab a bite to eat.
Later, he left with his own second younger sister’s son to buy some Indomie noodles. This innocent act of taking his nephew out would later turn into a devastating and tragic incident that would leave the entire community in shock.
After a few hours had passed, the parents of the little boy were worried and went out in search of their child and Kabutey.
Upon questioning, it was revealed that Kabutey had allegedly severed the head of the little boy and left the deceased in the kitchen of his father’s house.
Madam Emelia Agbi, who was the mother of the suspect and the grandmother of the deceased, was understandably distraught and in tears when she heard the news.
The Ada West District Police office was called and they took the body of the deceased to Aness Mortuary at Anyaman, in the Ada West District.
The incident has left the entire community in shock and disbelief. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind this gruesome and senseless act.
Meanwhile, the family of the little boy is devastated and mourning the loss of their precious child.
