Blogger pleads with philanthropists to help construct Saaman KG block

A renowned Ghanaian blogger, Augustus Koranteng Kyei, is seeking help to construct a school building for pupils of the Saaman Kindergarten in the Central Region.

The uncompleted project

He is pleading with non-governmental organisations, philanthropists and others in a capable position to help put up a befitting classroom for the pupils, who study in a dilapidated wooden structure.

Known in the new media space as Kobby Kyei, the online journalist has dedicated his platform to helping the less privileged in communities across the country have access to basic amenities, including good drinking water.

After recently embarking on a rigorous campaign that educated drivers and pedestrians about the importance of zebra crossing, especially in the cities of the country, Kobby Kyei has identified the suffering of the pupils of Saaman KG 1 and 2.

Located in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abream (KEEA) district, the wooden structure, which is not fit for purpose, serves as the classroom for both KGs one and two.

With the support of the first runner-up of 2023 Ghana’s Most Beautiful, Naa Ayeley, Kobby Kyei and his team visited the school to get first-hand information on the plight of the pupils.

The structure

The video documentary he shared showed the pupils sitting in a not-completely covered wooden structure that was in bad condition.

“Something that I have observed here is that the pupils are in school, but only KG 2 has a desk to put their books on,” Kobby Kyei narrated.

The chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association also called for help, stating that poor infrastructure has been their major problem.
