Bawumia unveils Napo in Kumasi

It is now official that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, would partner NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, as his running mate to contest the 2024 presidential elections.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo yesterday confirmed the duo as the NPP presidential ticket for the December general elections at a rally at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi.

He described the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, as loyal, straight forward and an excellent Vice President and vouched for his competence to deliver.

The President also praised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as energetic, having diligently implemented the free Senior High School policy, as the biggest legacy of the NPP government.

Nana Akufo-Addo believed the electorate would vote for the presidential candidates and called on Ghanaians to vote against NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, because he is not up to the task.

The flagbearer, Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia, noted that the December elections are about the future and the past.He claimed to be the most effective Vice President Ghana ever had, adding that John Mahama did not deserve a second term because he had failed as President.

According to him , the NPP’s performance records are superior to that of the NDC under John Mahama, citing growth in agriculture, industrialisation, job creation, roads, railways, hospitals, schools, Ghana card, mobile money interoperability, digitalisation, power stability and infrastructure  development.

He promised a new vision and assured that his government would consolidate on the gains of the Akufo-Addo administration.

The flagbearer described his running mate as an experienced legislator and generational thinker who has the propensity to partner him to move the country forward.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh urged the youth to continue to serve the party well and ensure victory for the party, by intensifying house-to-house campaign to secure 85% votes for the party in the region.

Other speakers at the durbar included; National Chairman of the party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua and Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti  Regional chairman of the party.

They all stressed on the need for the party to stay united and focused and ensure an eight year term for Dr. Bawumia.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, assured his followers that he is still a member of the NPP and would prefer an NPP government in power to an alternative one.

He called on the party leadership to recognise the role of the youth and get them involved in the house-to-house campaign in order to break the 8.
