Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice president and head of the economic management team has assured Ghanaians that the prevailing economic challenges in the country will be overcome and economic prosperity restored.
He noted that the current economic difficulties and uncertainty is not lost on Government and that all is being done to surmount the obstacles in the country’s way.
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia is confident that the challenges would be resolved sooner than later to the glory of God.
“As your Government, we do recognise the difficulties and uncertainties we are experiencing in our country, but with renewed strength and hope in the word of the Lord we are forever confident that we will ride this storm and turn things around to the GLORY OF OUR LORD,” he said Saturday, November 20, 2022 during the 70th Anniversary of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Tema Community 1, Accra.
Using Biblical exhortations to buttress his resolve and assurance of a turnaround in the fortunes of the country, Dr Bawumia noted that the faithful will always find strength and resilience in the assurances contained in scripture.
“The teachings of the church provide hope in times of uncertainty and difficulties. In Psalm 9:10, the Psalmist said “And Those Who Know Your Name Put Their Trust In You, For You, O Lord, Have Not Forsaken Those Who Seek You”. Beloved knowing God and trusting Him cannot be separated.
Our Hope is secure in who God is – His goodness, His steadfast love, His justice, His compassion will guide us through these difficult period across the globe.
Also in Isaiah 40:31, the word of God reminds us that, “But Those Who Hope In The Lord Will Renew Their Strength. They Will Soar On Wings Of Eagles; They Will Run And Not Grow Weary, They Will Walk And Not Be Faint,” he assured.
He added that, “as children of God, there will always be moments of hopelessness, despair, doubt, fear and uncertainty but our hope in God is always our source of strength and the motivation in these periods.
“He used the occasion to recognize and thank the Catholic Church for their phenomenal role in the provision of education, health and livelihood support for many in country.
The celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Our Lady of Mercy Church was under the theme: “OLAM @ 70: Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present & Looking into the Future with Hope.”
