Incumbent member of parliament for the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem, Mr Samuel Atta Mills has been retained to lead the party into the 2024 elections as a parliamentary candidate.
The younger brother of the former president, Prof John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills secured a total of 993 votes to defeat his contender, Lawyer Kwesi Austine who managed 671 votes.
This is the third time Mr Mills have emerged victorious in the NDC’s primaries in the KEEA Constituency since he made his first appearance in the run-up to the 2016 general elections.
In that same year, he became the only new contestant in the general election to win a parliamentary seat for the NDC in the Central Region as the NPP almost swept away all the parliamentary seats in the region.
He defeated the then incumbent MP, Dr Stephen Ato Arthur who represented the NPP.
He retained his seat for the party in the last elections in 2020 and would be the face of the NDC in the constituency in the next general elections in 2024.
