The members of the Ashanti Region Police Ladies Association (POLAS) have called on the Mayor of Kumasi, Sam Pyne, in connection with the impending 70th anniversary of the association.
The Association has outlined a number of activities, including a Health Walk, Outdoor Games, public education on security, and dinner to mark the Anniversary, under the theme: “Evolution of Police Women and her future.”
The delegation, led by Chief Superintendent Elizabeth Viney, who is also the Head of the Female Police (Fempol) Unit, emphasised the role of women in effective policing, for which women continued to be enlisted into the Ghana Police Service.
Mr. Sam Pyne, who applauded the female police officers for their meritorious services to the nation, reminded them to take up the explanation of the “See Something, Say Something” mantra to the public.
