Ashanti NDC targets 30% votes

Mr. Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews, the Ashanti regional chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is optimistic that party executives at the Regional, Constituency and Branch levels would do everything possible to win more votes in the 2024 general elections to appreciate their previous votes.

He noted that Ashanti Region is always grateful to the NDC in terms of infrastructural and economic development, for which the Party intends to work and make the coming back of Mr John Dramani Mahama as President a smooth sailing one.

He noted that, come 2024 general elections, the regional NDC is going to leave no stone unturned to win more than the 30% of the total votes in Ashanti region.

According to him, the electorate in the Ashanti region always appreciate the development that they enjoy anytime the NDC is in office, compared to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing the media at the regional party office, the NDC chairman was of the view that, the NPP as a political party has demonstrated that it is only interested in the votes of the electorate in the region rather than development.

He stated that discerning people in the region always decide to reward the NDC during elections. The NDC chairman stressed that, currently the NPP as a political party has observed that, the grounds are not fertile for them in the region when there are elections, because they have been in government for six years, yet have nothing to show in the region.

Chairman Nana Akwasi, as he is commonly called, disclosed that when it comes to a party that is committed to the development of Ashanti region, it is the NDC whose achievements are unmatched, hence the reason the electorate in the region appreciate the good works of NDC.

According to him, for over six years the NPP has not been able to complete Phase Two of the Central Market redevelopment project, not to talk of one of five interchanges proposed for the region.
