The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, has extended a massive support package to the people of his constituency, benefitting over 300 tertiary students, 50 persons with disabilities (PWDs) and dozens of apprentices under his skills training programme.

As part of the initiative, the MP also presented two brand new pickup vehicles, one to the Ghana Police Service and the other to the Ellembelle District Assembly, to enhance mobility and strengthen institutional operations in the area.
The intervention, valued at over GH₵1 million, forms part of the MP’s broader human development and institutional support agenda.
The amount was sourced through the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC), following successful lobbying by Mr.Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah to support education and local development in Ellembelle.
Support for Students and PWDs
Each of the 300 tertiary students received between GH₵2,500 and GH₵4,000 to cover tuition and academic expenses for the year. The beneficiaries were carefully selected, with priority given to brilliant but needy students, especially those from the interior parts of the constituency.
Fifty (50) persons with disabilities were also supported with cash grants and working equipment, including refrigerators, gas cylinders, corn mill machines and chest freezers to help them start or expand their small-scale businesses.
In addition, apprentices undergoing training in welding, carpentry, masonry, and other trades received starter kits and tools to aid their practical work and prepare them for self-employment after graduation.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr.Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah said the donation of the vehicles to the Police and District Assembly was in direct response to operational challenges reported by the institutions.
“The last pickup used by the police was about nine years old and frequently broke down. I felt it was important to step in because the police play a vital role in maintaining peace and security. They must have reliable tools to operate effectively, especially when duty calls 24 hours a day.”
He explained that supporting state institutions to function efficiently was central to community development, adding that his initiative complemented government efforts to retool and resource public agencies.
Investing in Education and Skills
Mr.Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah further announced that a total of GH₵1 million has been allocated through Ghana Gas to sustain the Ellembelle District Scholarship Programme.
“We are ensuring that as many students as possible benefit. Every youth trained and empowered is an investment in the future of Ellembelle.”

He emphasised that not all young people could be absorbed into government employment, hence the need to promote skills training and entrepreneurship to enable them to create their own opportunities.
“We must build a future where our young people can stand on their own through technical and vocational skills,” he stressed.
Mr.Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah reaffirmed his commitment to focusing on what he called the three key pillars of Ellembelle’s development – education, health, and infrastructure – while supporting institutions that maintain peace and stability.
“Ellembelle is a peaceful district, and we want to keep it that way. Supporting the police and our youth ensures sustained development and lasting peace,” he concluded.
DCE Commends Initiative
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr. Joseph Agyekum, lauded the initiative, describing it as a milestone in the district’s human capital development drive.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity and justify the confidence reposed in them.
