Charterhouse, organisers of Ghana’s biggest music night, Ghana Music Awards which is sponsored by Vodafone has announced that, it is set for the 23rd edition of the awards.
The awards will be in two parts;Friday May 6 and Saturday 7, 2022. Taking the stage on Ghana on the night will be Medikal, Camidoh, Kofi Kinaata, Fameye, Empress Gifty, Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Mr. Drew, Gyakie and more.
The awards night comes off at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra. Aside live audience in the auditorium, VGMA will be broadcast live to a virtual audience on TV3 and Facebook: Ghana Music Awards and Youtube: Charter house live.
In the 23rd edition of the VGMA,Kuami Eugene has 16 nominations, the highest this year and KiDi follows with eight nominations. Black Sherif follows with 8.
King Promise, Black Sherif, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle are vying for Artist of the Year.
There are over 30 competitive categories up for grabs by the Artistes. The categories include, Reggae and Dancehall of the year, Highlife Artiste of the year, Hiphop Artiste of the year, Artiste of the year, Male and Female Vocalist of the year, amongst others.
Gospel Artiste and crooner of ‘Adom,’ Diana Hamilton is the reigning Artiste of the year.
