The president, Nana Addo Damkwa Akufo Addo, has given healthcare in the Ashanti region a major boost, by commissioned four hospitals at different locations of the region, in a single day.
Located at Drobonso, Sabronum, Twedie and Suame, the health facilities, which are 40-bed capacity respectively, aim atĀ improving the health status of residents in the region.
The hospitals are made up of facilities such as Administration, Out Patient Department (OPD), Pharmacy, X-ray, 30-bed wards for Males, Female and Pediatrics, Services block containing Laundry, Stores, Cold room and Staff accommodation.
By extension, the project forms part of ā¬71,500,000 facilities secured from Erste Group Bank AG and ÄeskĆ” SpoÅitelna towards the construction and equipping of twelve 40-bed hospitals, which include 12-units of 2-bedroom semi-detached accommodation for hospital workers.
The beneficiaryĀ communities include; Jumapo, Kwabeng, Nkwatia, Achiase,Ā Manso Nkwanta, Adukrom, Mim and Kpone Katamanso amongst others.
AddressingĀ a colourful durbar at Sabronum, in the Ahafo Ano South EastĀ district of the Ashanti region, as part of his three-days working visit to the Ashanti region, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, who had flown to the area with a military chopper, mentioned that the hospital aims to make healthcare accessible to the people.
He noted that the project intends to make healthcare accessible to Ghanaians by improving existing healthcare facilities and constructing new ones in places where none exist in Ghana.
Akufo Addo further indicated that bringing healthcare closer to the masses remains a priority agenda of the government of the day, adding that it would be sustained.
On his part, the out-going Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South East, Mr Francis Manu-Adabor, expressed appreciation to the president for the hospital.
The over elated MP told the function that beyond the 40-bed Sabronum hospital,Ā the constituency has also benefited from agenda 111 project, which is currently under construction at Adugyama – the district capital.
