Akosua Agyapong, a well-known Ghanaian highlife musician and TV personality, has expressed worry over the growing tendency among Ghanaian celebrities to shun weddings in the entertainment sector.
She said in a recent conversation on Graphic Showbiz that celebrities who chose spouses outside the profession had more successful marriages.
Akosua Agyapong observed the dynamics and said that celebrity couples often had difficulty owing to the shared limelight, resulting in issues of distrust, anxieties, and doubts.
She emphasised that the nature of the profession, which she had previously married to Highlife performer Amandzeba, might exacerbate these issues.
“If you do the same work that I do, there will always be trust issues. You are in the limelight, and I am too, so when you step out, I will always have doubts in my mind, no matter the trust,” she added.
According to her, the continual public attention and scrutiny in the spotlight may have an influence on celebrity couples’ trust.
As a consequence, Akosua Agyapong proposed that marrying outside the sector may lead to more secure and long-lasting partnerships.
