A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti Region has defected with over 200 of his supporters to join the opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Kwabena Osei Bonsu, popularly known by his constituents as Osei Bonsu, a native of Mabang and Akwasiase, both in the Ahafo Ano North municipality, explained that he decided to join the NDC after they approached him after he lost his bid for the seat, as an Independent candidate in the 2020 General Elections.
Osei Bonsu said he has a vision to help the constituents and hopes joining the NDC would help him to realise his dream.
According to him, he intends to employ over 2,000 people to augment the support base of the NDC in the constituency and boost the fortunes of the party to clinch victory in the December elections.
An elated NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ahafo Ano North, Akwasi Adusei, expressed his joy for Mr. Osei Bonsu’s defection and welcomed him, noting that it is a blessing for the people of Ahafo Ano North to have the former NPP member in their (NDC) fold.
