In the train accident in Taiwan in which about FiFTY (50) persons lost their lives, the Transport Minister therein tendered in his resignation. Though turned down for him to oversee the “mess” created, I believe it was in the right direction and worth emulating.

Here in Ghana, the west coast of Africa, SEVENTY (70) persons lost their lives at Kintampo and about THIRTY (30) others at Ekumfi within a day or two, but the then Transport Minister , Hon. Kwaku Ofori -Asiamah, hanged on to his post. To add insults, oh yes, insults, to injury, he was reappointed and approved by our August House in the then Government’s second term.

In the above narrative, Hon Asiamah visited both accident scenes with his lieutenants, shed some CROCODILE TEARS, which earned him the accolade, CROCODILE TEARS.

Communiques, which never brought the dead back to life and, again, were never comprehended, implemented nor enforced were issued. The issue just fizzled away and that ended the Gospel. Nothing, aka, Hwee, happened thereafter, no one took responsibility and shall ever take responsibility.

Yah, over the weekend, 16 innocent souls of Obogu Saviour Church perished in a single accident in the Asante Akyem enclave – Who Cares?

Commenting on the “wo akra fie” Accra Kumasi stretch will not only  be a waste of one’s precious time, but an understatement. All who matter in the equation knows or ought to know the remedies thereto, but …..WHO CARES, for they will make that stretch by air than risk their lives, aka, kwaseanaewuo.

The Ag. Director-General of NRSA, the substantive Director-General of MTTD of the Ghana Police are still hanging on to their posts notwithstanding the fact that they have demonstrably demonstrated their inability to curb the carnage on our roads.

Yah, nothing will happen, not even front pages coverage in the national tabloids to drum home a point. After all,  it’s God who gives and takes, aka, Fama Nyame.

Abraham Amaliba Esq., recall at one of our meetings, you showed clear intention of changing the narratives and face of NRSA, referencing Joe Wise”s ‘influence/impact’ at DVLA – what are you waiting for?

Road fatalities statistics since the assumption of the duo into office has been, not too impressive, especially this “Kutawonsa” month of July and still counting – JUST FRIGHTENING AS IF NO ONE IS IN CHARGE.

You have all the arsenals at your disposal – your Acts, including but not limited to Act 722 or whatever coupled with numerous Legislative Instruments and other enabling laws and wonder what is holding you up.

Certainly, something does not add up. Either the duo are “accomplices” thereof or to put it bluntly, DON’T CARE A HOOT ABOUT THE CARNAGE. Fractured Peace.
