West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC woes in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season was deepened by Accra Lions in their match-week 29 encounter at the Red Bull Salzburg in Sogakope. Accra Lions made a trip to the Volta Region to inflict a painful 1-0 home defeat on West African Football Academy in their match-week 29 fixture on Wednesday afternoon. A first half strike from Bassit Seidu was enough to secure the Premier League debutants all the needed to keep their hopes of surviving in the top-tier league alive.
The hosts gained possession after conceding the opener after the half-hour mark, but none of their efforts earned them the equalizer, as the first half ended in a 1-0 win for Accra Lions.
In the second half, WAFA introduced more fresh legs with the hope of registering the leveller but their attempts went futile.
WAFA kept knocking for at least a goal but the back line of Accra Lions prevented them from penetrating their box.
