The Ebenezer Assemblies of God Co-Operative Savings & Social Services Society Limited (E-AGASSSCO) has held its 17th Annual General Meeting at Tikrom in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The theme for the meeting was: “Repositioning yourself to meet the Global Changing Economy”.
Mr. Thomas Hayford Ofosuhene, General Manager of E-AGASSSCO, disclosed that in spite of the numerous challenges facing the organisation, it would continue to channel more resources into financing shareholders’ businesses towards poverty reduction within the communities and catchment area of E-AGASSSCO.
He assured members that the society would intensify loans recovery, deposit mobilisation and maintain quality assets to increase profitability and reduce the cost of operations, urging the public to develop the habit of saving in a bank.
The Guest Speaker, Rev. P. K. Opoku touching on the theme, indicated the need to adapt to changes in the global economy by embracing I.C.T in performing business activities.
He advised the Union’s Board to employ skilled workers to work for the Union, to educate the members to enable them to use modern devices, as well as the establishment of an education committee to educate members using various forms including social media platforms.
Rev. Opoku urged members to purchase additional shares to improve the “capital strength” of the society and also touted the Board and Management for good and sound management practices. He also commended the loans committee for loan recovery efforts to sustain profitability.
Meanwhile, E-AGASSSCO has opened an ultra-modern office at Baworo, in the Ejisu Municipality.
