Graceful in step, warm in her smile,

    Mrs.Agyeman-Rawlings lit every mile.

Confident, poised, and kind to all,

A woman whose walk left a lasting call.

She championed women, firm and fair,

Their rights, their dreams, their rightful share.

Yet wife and mother, tender and wise,

She held her home with loving eyes.

A pioneering force, towering and true,

In Ghanaian politics, her vision grew.

Indeed, one cannot speak of women’s might,

Without Mrs. Nana Konadu’s shining light.

What a pleasure it was to meet her once,

At Animens Hotel in Takoradi’s sun.

On her campaign to lift women high,

Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings spoke with fire, truth, and sky.

She once said she was a cousin to the Asante King,

And I believed her in everything.

For like the King, whose heart extends afar,

She embraced all tribes, as Ghanaians are.

And in marrying an Ewe—President Rawlings—

She showed that love knows no bound nor calling.

For over forty years, they journeyed side by side,

Through life’s triumphs and challenges wide.

He passed in 2020, leaving a void so deep,

And five years later, she joined him in eternal sleep.

As recently as weeks ago, in solemn grace,

At the funeral in the Asantehemaa’s place,

    Her Rawlings-look-alike son was seen,

Walking beside Mrs. Nana Konadu—calm, serene.

With mournful steps, they went that day,

To greet Otumfuo, the King, in a sorrowful way.

It was not only to mourn the royal cry,

But also to bid her own final goodbye.

From Mrs. Nana Konadu, I learned—and still I see,

That African womanhood holds a key:

Not self alone, but love’s embrace,

    Empowerment tempered with family’s grace.

Now gone beyond our mortal sight,

Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings’ memory glows, a steady light.

    Farewell, great lady-ever dear,

Your walk still echoes-we feel you near.

A noble daughter of Ghana-may Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ legacy endure.
