Zijin Golden Ridge Limited stands as an example of how responsible mining can drive sustainable growth while transforming the lives of communities and people.

Since the commencement of its Ghana operations in April 2025, community investments have been focused on transparency and partnership that can be felt and deeply reflects the voices and needs of community members.

In May, the company, through its community development foundation, joined the chiefs and people of the Birim North District to commission a paediatric ward at the New Abirem General Hospital at a cost of over GHC 2 million.

The company also supported the Birim North Municipal Education Directorate to organise the Municipal Science, Mathematics and Computing Quiz for all public and private Junior High Schools in the municipality.

The quiz competition was designed to awaken and sustain the interest and significance of studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Zijin Golden Ridge Limited in May also handed over $10,000 worth of medical equipment and supplies to the New Abirem Hospital in the Birim North District.

The hospital attends to over 40,000 patients every year in the Birim North, Birim Central Atiwa East, Atiwa West, Asante Akyem South and Akyemansa districts.

In the month of July, the mining company handed over a 12-lockable store market facility to the chiefs and people of Mamaso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana, at a cost of over GHS 1.4 million.

According to the latest Mining District Development Scorecard (MDDS) League Table, the Birim North district was ranked highest, largely due to the effective utilisation of mining revenues, particularly from the Akyem gold mine where Zijin currently owns and operates.
