A native of Enyan Denkyira in the Central Region, Wilberforce Andrews has donated office stationery to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Headquarters in Accra.
The items, which included A4 sheets, Bic pens, office pins and flat files, he said, were meant to support the party ahead of its upcoming internal elections.
Briefing the media, he said his donation formed part of his continuous support for the party since he joined ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“I am here today because I believe in supporting the structures that keep our democracy working. Even the smallest tools matter when it comes to running a smooth and peaceful election,” he said.
“As a son of Enyan Denkyira, I have been contributing to national development. This donation is a continuation of that commitment,” he added.
Wilberforce Andrews wanted to contest the last general elections as an independent presidential candidate.
He, however, abandoned his ambition to join the NDC, which was the then largest opposition party and campaigned vigorously for the party.
This decision, he explained, was borne out of the fact that the campaign message of President John Dramani Mahama who was the flag bearer of the party, aligned with his vision.
The items which were donated on Wednesday, 14th October 2026, were received by the Director of Administration of the NDC, Emmanuel S. Zumakpeh.
In a letter of acknowledgement, Director Zumakpeh stated, “This thoughtful contribution will greatly support the administrative work of the party and we are grateful for your consistent kind gesture and commitment to our collective cause.”
He assured that the donated items would be put to effective use in advancing the work of the party.
Mr Andrews said as a good citizen of Ghana, he has been participating in the development of the country and felt it necessary to support the party’s preparations for the elections.
“I want to encourage other well-meaning Ghanaians to also support in their own small way. Nation building is not the job of government alone,” he said.
