The AABRYT Foundation has sensitised adolescent boys and girls of Ejisuman Senior High School on menstrual health and emotional intelligence. The initiative, dubbed “Glow, Grow, Bold Future” is aimed at empowering both male and female adolescents at the school.

Madam Diana Akosua Adutwumwaah Britwum, also known as Akosua Sarpong, a newscaster at Despite Media and Executive Director and Founder of the AABRYT Foundation, explained that the aim of the event was to help students glow and inspire them to become responsible leaders.
She said the one-day training workshop covered menstrual health, emotional intelligence and leadership, personal safety and security, life skills and career development. She noted that the Foundation was making an impact at Ejisuman Senior High School.
She stated that Ejisuman was prioritised because she is an alumna and decided to impact the students as her contribution, similar to what she has been doing for several Senior and Junior High Schools in the Western, Eastern and Ashanti Regions over the years.
She also donated thousands of sanitary pads and assorted drinks and food items to the students.
The Headmistress of Ejisuman Senior High School, Mrs. Cassandra Osei Wusu Antobre, commended the AABRYT Foundation for the timely intervention, which she said would help the students grow healthy, courageous and intelligent.
According to her, the girls are at a very critical stage of their lives and what they need now is wisdom and knowledge to grow in confidence, guidance to grow in character and behaviour, and the courage to pursue bold future goals.

She said it is an undeniable fact that many girls miss classes because of menstruation, with many suffering in silence due to stigma, while others have fantastic dreams, but lack mentors to show them the way.
She said what AABRYT Foundation is doing is, therefore, not just donation of sanitary pads, but restoration of hope and dignity to our girls while keeping them in school.
She expressed the view that the menstrual period of girls should not be a barrier preventing them from achieving their dreams, noting that the impact the Foundation is making in the lives of the girls is phenomenal and the school is forever grateful to be part of the success story.
The headmistress enumerated challenges facing the school that deserve urgent attention, including persistent land encroachment, an uncompleted fence wall, furniture, the internal layout of the school, insufficient classrooms, and stalled projects, especially the girls’ dormitory and appealed to stakeholders, philanthropists, parents and the government to come to the aid of the school.
The Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Mr. Kwabena Boateng, commended the AABRYT Foundation for the educative programme aimed at inspiring the youth for a brighter future.
He urged the students to embrace hard work to enable them to succeed in life as future leaders.
He advised them to be submissive to school authorities and avoid being in a hurry to enjoy life or living the way they want, which could endanger their future aspirations.
The representative of the Queen Mother of Ejisu, Nana Kyerew Akenten, advised the students to take their education seriously to enable them to achieve their future aspirations and to eschew immorality.

The Board Chairman of Ejisuman Senior High School, Mr. Ntim Twumasi Kwaku, also known as NTK, commended the AABRYT Foundation for the laudable initiative to empower young ladies. He also commended the involvement of the various security agencies for educating the students, especially on avoiding the use of illicit drugs that could prevent them from enlisting into the security services.
Some of the security agencies that sensitised the students on career paths, safety and intelligence included the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service and Ghana Post.
