Heart of Lions produced a dramatic comeback to beat Young Apostles 2-1 in a thrilling Ghana Premier League encounter at the Nana Abrefa Nketia VII Stadium in Wenchi.
Apostles made a flying start to the contest, taking the lead just four minutes into the game through Samuel Prempeh.
The early goal gave the home side a perfect platform as they looked to recover from their heavy 3-0 defeat to Debibi United in their previous outing.
However, Lions gradually settled into the contest and eventually found a way back into the game after the break.
Francis Odoom restored parity for the Kpando-based side in the 55th minute, converting from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.
Lions were dealt a setback ten minutes later when Abdul Jalilu was shown a red card in the 65th minute, leaving the visitors with ten men for the remainder of the match.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Lions refused to settle for a point and continued to push for a winner.
Their persistence finally paid off deep into stoppage time when Mustapha Yakubu struck in the 95th minute to complete a remarkable turnaround and seal a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
The result represents a significant boost for Lions, who entered the game still searching for their first win of the 2026/27 campaign.
Apostles, meanwhile, will be left to rue their failure to capitalise on their early advantage and the numerical superiority they enjoyed after Jalilu’s dismissal.
