Mr Eric Asibey, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, has commissioned a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with nurses’ accommodation for the Nyankyerenease community.

He commended President John Dramani Mahama and the sector minister for ensuring that the District Assemblies Common Fund is always available to the assemblies for development projects. He said the Apatrapa Health Centre would be upgraded and completed with a fence wall and pavement.

He stated that he would ensure that every electoral area lacking a health facility gets one to improve total healthcare delivery in the municipality. He said all legacy projects in the municipality, including schools, ICT centres and healthcare projects started by the previous government, would be completed.

The MCE advised nurses to demonstrate good attitude, respect and humility towards patients and authorities who visit the facility and not to shun patients who seek healthcare.

The Municipal Health Director, Ms. Grace Billi Kampitib, commended the MCE for the project aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the municipality. She described the initiative as a move away from hospitals to bring healthcare delivery closer to community members and households.

According to her, the project complements free primary healthcare to ensure that every Ghanaian has access to healthcare, and to ensure that patients with communicable diseases who cannot attend hospitals are taken care of. She said the facility would handle maternal health, family planning, blood pressure and other related ailments and appealed to stakeholders to support and protect the workers at the facility.

The Queen Mother of Nyankyerenease, Nana Yaa Adutwumwaah II, commended the Assembly for bringing healthcare closer to residents. She said the community lacks many development projects, especially roads, and pleaded with the NDC government to continue its good works to ensure that the community gets its fair share of the national cake.

The Nkosuohene of Nyankyerenease, Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanini I, pleaded with the MCE and the Municipal Health Director to intensify the free health insurance scheme to promote healthcare delivery for the needy and less privileged in the community.
