Veteran Ghanaian gospel singer Bernice Offei has been found after disappearing in Accra, sparking an outpouring of concern and online solidarity from fans and fellow musicians.
When news of the 63-year-old singer’s disappearance was disclosed yesterday, Ghanaians with prominent gospel artistes Empress Gifty and Diana Hamilton were among those who joined the effort online to help locate her.

Hours after the search gained traction on social media, a “Found Person Notice” confirmed that the singer had been located.
Dr Yaw Perbi shared the update on Facebook, bringing relief to the many who had shared posts online. He posted: “Thank you to everyone who helped share and support. Your vigilance and prayers made a difference!”
Who is Bernice Offei
Bernice Offei is a Ghanaian gospel musician with a career spanning several decades. She is known for songs including Hold On, Life Is Short, Kaashe Gbeyi, Don Bi Rebo and Nyame Aye Bi Ama Yen among many others.
Bernice had her secondary education at Achimota School in Accra. She holds an MPhil in Crop Science from the University of Ghana and an MSc in Information Technology from the United Kingdom
Bernice is the wife of Professor Samuel Kwame Offei, a Professor of Biotechnology of the University of Ghana. She is a mother of two children.
