Award-winning actor, Adjetey Anang has shared his thoughts on the newly introduced film development fund and how it could positively transform Ghana’s movie industry.
In interview with Naphtali Baah on the significance of the initiative, the celebrated actor explained that although the fund may not solve every challenge facing the industry, it is an important step toward supporting independent filmmakers and creatives who have struggled for years to keep the movie space alive.
According to him, many passionate filmmakers often face financial difficulties when trying to start projects, and the fund will serve as a major boost to help them bring their ideas to life.
“The film development fund is not here to solve all our problems, but at least it helps individuals who have been independent all this while trying to keep the space running,” he stated.
Adjetey Anang further noted that access to financial support will encourage filmmakers not to give up on producing world-class movies capable of competing on the global stage.
He also stressed that the initiative could introduce more seriousness and professionalism into Ghana’s movie industry, adding that every film produced represents the country internationally.
The actor believes that improving the quality of films in Ghana will help attract foreign investors and open up the local market to international opportunities.
