Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has paid glowing tribute to the late Apostle Emeritus Prof. Ing. Kwadwo Safo, describing him as an exceptional visionary whose life was dedicated to improving the lives of others and advancing national development.

Receiving a delegation from the family of the revered inventor, industrialist, traditional leader and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission at the Presidency on Friday, May 29, 2026 Mr. Debrah said Apostle Safo devoted his life, knowledge, resources and energy to creating opportunities and hope for countless people.
“He carried the burdens of many upon his shoulders and wore the welfare of others as his crown,” the Chief of Staff remarked.
According to him, Apostle Safo’s life embodied sacrifice and service, as he consistently placed the needs of others above his own comfort and personal interests.
“He was prepared to spend and be spent, sacrificing comfort, wealth and strength to build a world where every person could live with dignity, opportunity and hope.
“His life was a testament to selfless vision — a candle that burned itself away so that others could see the light,” he said.
Reflecting on his personal experiences with the late inventor, Mr. Debrah recalled fond memories of social gatherings organised by Apostle Safo at Taifa, where he would personally play musical instruments and bring together people from different backgrounds.
“He understood that beyond hard work, people needed moments of joy and relaxation. Every evening, residents and visitors gathered, and he used music and fellowship to unite the community,” he recounted.
The Chief of Staff also shared an experience from his time in the tourism sector, when Apostle Safo readily provided transportation for a group of international visitors through the Great Imperial Transport Service.
“Without hesitation, he made a bus available to support us. Such acts of generosity defined his character,” he noted.
Mr. Debrah said Apostle Safo’s impact extended far beyond his family, community and region, touching lives across Ghana and beyond through his contributions to industry, agriculture, technology and faith.
He, therefore, described calls for a grand national farewell as fitting for a man whose legacy remains deeply woven into Ghana’s development story.
The Chief of Staff assured the family of government’s support in ensuring a befitting funeral for the celebrated inventor and spiritual leader.
The visit was to formally brief government on arrangements for the final funeral rites of Apostle Safo.
Leading the delegation, Head of the Safo Family and former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, said extensive consultations had been undertaken following the passing of the Kristo Asafo leader on September 11, 2025.
She explained that due to Apostle Safo’s immense following and national stature, the family engaged widely with relatives, traditional authorities, church leaders and other stakeholders before finalising the funeral programme.
Mrs. Adwoa Safo disclosed that with the guidance and counsel of the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the family had agreed on dates for the final funeral rites.
According to her, the traditional burial rites, known as “Doteyie”, will be held on July 30, 2026 at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region, where a grand mausoleum has been constructed as the final resting place of the renowned leader.
The main funeral service is scheduled for July 31, 2026 at the Independence Square in Accra and is expected to attract dignitaries from across Ghana and beyond.
The national farewell will conclude on August 8, 2026, with a thanksgiving service in Kumasi.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo leaves behind a towering legacy of innovation, entrepreneurship, faith and community development that continues to inspire generations of Ghanaians.
