The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Abuakwa South, Nana Adu Sarpong Addo Aikins Jr., has dismissed claims that he inherited debts upon assuming office, insisting that there was no official record indicating any outstanding liabilities at the Assembly, when he took over its administration.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaminia Sam Biney on the Adekyee Mu Nsem Morning Show on Bryt FM, the MCE stated that available documents and financial records handed over to his administration, did not show any debt burden inherited from the previous administration.
According to him, attempts to create the impression that the Assembly was heavily indebted are inaccurate and do not reflect the official financial position he met upon assumption of office.
Addo Aikins commended his predecessor for what he described as a commendable leadership legacy, noting that significant efforts had been made towards the development of the municipality.
He expressed his determination to continue building on the achievements of the past administration while working hard to leave behind a lasting and meaningful legacy for the people of Abuakwa South.
The MCE emphasised that his administration remains committed to transparency, accountability and prudent financial management to ensure that public resources are effectively utilised to meet the developmental needs of residents.
He explained that strategic measures have already been introduced to strengthen the operational efficiency of the Assembly and improve governance as well as service delivery within the municipality.
Addo Aikins further assured residents that his administration’s priority would be the implementation of impactful development projects aimed at improving livelihoods, infrastructure, and socio-economic growth across the municipality.
He reiterated his commitment to serving the people diligently and ensuring that Abuakwa South continues to witness steady progress under his leadership.
