The Council of Ulamas (Imams) in Ashanti region and Zongo Community Chiefs have supported Business magnate, Ibrahim Mahama with prayers for Allah’s blessings and guidance as he takes over the management of the Damang Gold Mines.
The Imams headed by the Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zakari, the Regional Chief Imam engaged members of the Council in recital of verses of the Holy Quran at the Kumasi Central Mosque last Friday to seek God’s favour for successful operations at the Mines. The Special prayer session was at the instance of Alhaji Yakubu Adam alias Yakubu Tony Aidoo, a confidant of the businessman.
The Imams pledged their support for Ibrahim Mahama’s efforts and contribution to national development and his philanthropic works across the country for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
The Regional Chief Imam stated that their prayer support is premised on the fact that Ibrahim Mahama is first and foremost a Ghanaian and not a politician and that his efforts as a successful businessman and philanthropist have benefited all Ghanaians hence the need to support him in prayers.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zakari urged the workers of Damang Gold Mines to cooperate with the new CEO and management to sustain growth of the company. The Spiritual leader described Ibrahim Mahama as the pride of Ghana and stressed the need for the workers to give off their all and work harder than before to support him to achieve bigger laurels and put the company on higher pedestal of success.
The Chief Imam also prayed that, by the exemplary leadership, Ghana produces more persons of Ibrahim Mahama’s calibre to champion the national development agenda.
Alhaji Yakubu Tony Aidoo also presented a cow to the Council of Imams for distribution to the needy in the Zongo communities.
