The Tetrefu Technical Institute (TTI) has appealed to government, philanthropists and corporate organisations to come to its rescue to address challenges facing it. Mr Philip Boamah, Deputy Principal of the Institute disclosed that the Institution was doing well academically, indicating that the TTI garnered over 80 percent in the last examination, but that notwithstanding, the Institution faces a lot of challenges.

He mentioned accommodation (for both teachers and students), furniture and food shed as the major challenges revealing that one classroom has been converted into a shed to preserve food, at the expense of students, who sometimes have to merge with other classes or resort to other options.

The Principal said the students are ready to construct infrastructure on their own if they get required resources and materials.

Mr. Boamah who was addressing the media during the celebration of the annual Student Representative Council (SRC) Week, said the celebration provides the medium for students to share their plight and concerns, as well as engage in extra-curriculum activities.

Fazal Mohammed, President, SRC-TTI appealed to the government, philanthropists and corporate organisations to help them address congestion at the dormitories.

He advised the students to abstain from drugs and other vices, to become good leaders in the future.

The SRC President encouraged students to enrol in technical institutions to acquire employable skills and urged parents to desist from discouraging their wards from enrolling in technical institutions.
