Five men have been remanded into police custody by a Circuit Court in Accra for allegedly engaging in land guard activities and attacking a security officer and clients of a real estate company at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region.

The accused persons are Abdul Wahab Adams, 33; Ali Abubakar, 36; Adamu Tahiru, 38; Mustapha Tahjude, 28; and Mudasiru Saliu, 50. They are facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, namely the prohibition of activities of land guards, engaging in land guard activities, and trespass.

A sixth suspect, identified as Nana Oteng, is currently at large and is also charged with abetting the alleged land guard activities. The court, presided over by His Honour Dennis E. Furney, ordered the five accused persons to remain in police custody and reappear on October 28, 2026. Their pleas were not taken. The court also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Nana Oteng.

Chief Inspector Felix Koomson, the prosecutor told the court that the complainant reported the matter to the police on October 13, 2026, leading to the arrest of the five accused persons.

During investigations, the accused persons allegedly admitted the offences and identified Nana Oteng as the person who had recruited them to harass the complainant and force him to vacate the land.

The prosecution further alleged that the accused persons, armed with machetes and other offensive weapons, caused chaos on the property and attacked Mr Hussein and his clients.

Nana Oteng is alleged to have aided and abetted the five accused persons in carrying out the activities. Police investigations are continuing, with a manhunt underway to arrest Nana Oteng and other suspected accomplices.
