16-year-old boy stabbed to death by twin brothers in Berekum

A 16-year-old Junior High School (JHS) Form 3 student, Alhassan Suleman, aka Baba, has allegedly been stabbed to death at the Jetam drinking spot in Berekum in the Bono Region.

According to information gathered by The Chronicle, the deceased was allegedly killed by twin brothers, Harus and Farouk, with whom he lived in the same house.

The deceased was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the chest at the popular drinking spot where they had gone for a night party.

The mother of the deceased, Madam Safia Sulemana, said she did not believe the story after the death of her son was reported to her.

She added that she had been taking care of the twin brothers after their parents divorced.

“I know the twin brothers very well. They eat from my house after their parents’ marriage was dissolved, so I don’t know why these boys have killed my son,” she said.

Mohammed Sofian, who witnessed the incident, explained that the deceased was stabbed in the chest several times with scissors by the twins, who later bolted after committing the crime.

The eyewitness said the victim died while he was sending him to the Berekum Holy Family Hospital.

The brother of the deceased, Suleman Seidu, also expressed shock over the death of his young brother, who is the last born of the family, and believes the police would bring the perpetrators to book.

“I was shocked when I heard about my younger brother’s death. He was the last born in the family, and we are counting on the police to arrest the perpetrators for justice…” he said.

The Berekum Police Command has begun investigations into the incident to trace the twin brothers who are on the run.
