“We don’t need coach Kwesi Appiah at the moment’ -Ntow Gyan

Former Ghanaian footballer, Ntow Gyan has advised coach Kwesi Appiah to stay away from the Black Stars job at the moment to maintain the respect he earned during his previous two spell.

The Ghana senior men national team has been without a substantive head coach since Otto Addo’s resignation after the 202 World Cup and the GFA are still in search for his successor.

Over 100 coaches worldwide have exhibited strong interest in taking up the role including the ex- Al Khartoum coach who was the first local coach to send the Black Stars to the World Cup.

Ntow Gyan after routing for Chris Hughton, believes Kwesi Appiah wouldn’t the right person to lead the four time African champions at the moment and has urged him to forgo the idea of return to maintain his dignity.

“Kwesi Appiah has been in charge of the Black Stars twice and is seeking for a third coming. I don’t want Ghanaians to be lambasting him, he has done his part for Ghana during his playing days and as a coach so I will personally advise him to concentrate on the job he is doing at the moment.”

“I know he did not apply for the job on his own, I know there are people who are pushing for his return but I want to be frank, it will not help him. He should concentrate on his job. He is respected because of what he has done for the nation so he should maintain that respect.” Credit: kickgh.com
