Prof. Akosua Dickson appointed KNUST VC

Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, Professor of Pharmacognosy, has been appointed the new Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), effective August 1, 2020.
Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, until her appointment, was the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University. Her tenure spans the period from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2024.
A statement released by the University explained that her appointment follows the acceptance of the report of the Search Committee for the Appointment of Vice-Chancellor for the University, by the University Council at its 258th (special) meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, thus, becomes the first female Vice-Chancellor of the country’s premier science and technology university.
