The Circuit Court 6 in Accra, presided over by His Honour Kwabena Kodua Obiri Yeboah, has granted a GH¢20,000 bail with one surety to a 44-year-old pastor, Emmanuel Ngula, who has been accused of assaulting a female customer and causing her unlawful harm.

Emmanuel Ngula, who appeared before the court on Monday, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing unlawful harm, contrary to Section 69 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The case has been adjourned to November 26, 2025, for mention and for the prosecution to make its disclosures.

According to the brief facts presented in court, the complainant, Belinda Marfo, a trader residing at Baatsonaa, who sells second hand clothing, and had the accused as one of her customers.

On October 8, 2025 at about 8:00 p.m., Belinda Marfo reportedly confronted Ngula at Kotobabi No. 2, Spintex, over an outstanding payment for clothes he bought on credit.

The prosecution said the accused, without provocation, held the complainant’s hand firmly and pushed her to the ground, causing her to sustain severe pain and swelling in her right wrist. Ngula allegedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.

A witness, identified as Evans Addai, rushed to assist the complainant and helped convey her to the Danpong Clinic for medical attention.

A subsequent medical examination confirmed that Belinda Marfo had suffered a displaced, transverse fracture through the distal radial metaphysis with intra-articular extension.

Following a police report, Ngula was arrested to assist in investigations. The prosecution said investigations established that the accused intentionally and unlawfully exerted force on the complainant, resulting in the injury.

He has since been charged and placed before the court to face trial.
