NPP news vendors chair endorses Bawumia for flagbearership

The Chairman of the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Newspaper Vendors Association, Bismark Ayensu, has endorsed the candidature of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the flagbearer of the party.

Mr. Ayensu believes Dr. Bawumia was the best of all the aspirants, having excelled in the execution of his duties as the second gentleman of the land.

The local newspaper vendors Chairman of the party in Kumasi said a Bawumia leadership would enable the party achieve its arduous task of breaking the 8 in Election 2024.

He noted that Dr. Bawumia, as a running mate and Vice President, had impacted positively on presidential campaigns and the growth of the party.

Mr. Ayensu noted that over the last six years, Dr. Bawumia had been an effective partner to President Nana Akufo-Addo, culminating in good policies and social interventions.

The party executive said Dr. Bawumia had exhibited brilliance, intelligence, and ingenuity as an individual in the area of economic management.

Mr. Ayensu noted that even though the 1992 Constitution defines the role of the Vice President, mainly in the performance of tasks assigned to him by the President, Dr. Bawumia had made his own personal efforts to complement the Presidency.

The Chief Vendor also pointed to the wide acclamation of Dr. Bawumia, as a renowned economist, by global institutions, and further mentioned the healthy relationship between the President and his Vice (Dr. Bawumia), which had solidified the unity in the party and government, as a yardstick for delegates to consider him for the flagbearer slot.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, by all standards, qualifies to lead the party into the 2024 elections, with the hope of breaking the 8,” Ayensu stressed.

He has, therefore, called on the delegates to consider giving him (Dr. Bawumia) the mandate to lead the party for the ultimate in the 2024 elections.
