President John Dramani Mahama together with the Acting Defence Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson has rushed to the 37 Military Hospital following a tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, which left at least twelve persons dead and several others injured during an ongoing Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise.

The President, visibly concerned, visited the emergency ward to check on the condition of the injured victims and was briefed by medical officials on the situation.

His visit underscores the gravity of the incident, which has once again drawn national attention to the country’s rising youth unemployment and the desperation among jobseekers.
